Just by being present on this planet, Śrīla Prabhupāda benefited so many people, even without their knowing. For example, as Prabhupāda states in Nectar of Devotion, the inventor of the dictaphone is benefited by its being used [by Prabhupāda] in Kṛṣṇa’s service.
Once a newspaper reporter challenged Prabhupāda, “You say that all these modern inventions like airplanes are useless, but you also use them.” Śrīla Prabhupāda responded, “Yes, now that I am using your plane, it is useful; otherwise it was useless.”
Similarly, all those involved in producing cars, radios, cloth, food, newspapers, and so many other things that Prabhupāda used, were benedicted indirectly. And what to speak of those who directly saw him or heard him, even once? And what of those who actually served him, even for a few days, or a few years, or of those who will serve him in the future? And what of those who give their lives to him?
