Since 2001, the Prabhupadavani website has been presenting the collection of audio files representing the greater part of Srila Prabhupada’s vani. On December 1, 2009, all of those files were moved to a dedicated server. Previously, the domain was hosted on a shared server but due to the uncontrollable timeout measure on such a server, many visitors and members were experiencing difficulty with their hearing experience.

The current operating period is December 2009 to November 2010 inclusively. Your name will be enlisted as we go in the 2010 Donors' list and be added to the Credits page on December 1, 2010.
Why is there a timeout on a shared server?
Big audio files take a long time to load on a slow or intermediate connection and this contributes to increase the traffic on the server. Thus , the timeout measure helps protect the stability of the other domains on that same server.
What is the difference with a dedicated server?
The timeout can be adjusted to serve our needs since the Prabhupadavani website is the only domain hosted on the server.

As you can see on the chart above, expenses are incurred in the lecture delivery program, the book narration facility and the maintainance of the website.

The devotees in charge of preparing the lecture delivery including the making of the "take a test" pages do not take one farthing for their work.
